Hello to all our patients.
With the regulations regarding face coverings/masks being relaxed by the government in England from the 19th of July, it is important to remember that we are still in the middle of the pandemic. Throughout the pandemic we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for all our patients and staff. Staff will continue to wear PPE. Thorpe surgery and the community have come so far in trying to minimise the impact of Covid, and as positive case numbers are still rising we are sure you understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe as we can for ALL patients.
From the 19th July what will not change at the surgery:
- Patients will still need to wear a face mask /face shield
- Socially distancing
- The use of hand sanitiser in the surgery
- Having your temperature taken
- Surgery triage system
- Maximum of 6 patients in the waiting room area at any one time
From the 19th July what will change:
- Reception will be open to make appointments
- You are able to use the surgery public toilet
- Pram/pushchair and Mobility scooter parking (from the 2/8/21)
- You are able to come into the surgery to collect prescriptions/medication
- You can enter the surgery to drop off samples
- Family will be allowed in to accompany you
We need to ensure that Thorpe Surgery follow Infection Prevention Control (IPC) guidance in order to keep our patients safe and also provide a safe environment for our staff to work in. Hence, we will continue to insist that all patients and visitors to GP surgeries wear a face covering (unless they are exempt) while inside the surgery premises. In addition, it is vital that total triage and remote consultations when appropriate will also be continued.
Thank you for your support, let’s try and return to some normality, enjoy life and keep safe.
Best wishes
Jayne, Practice Manager
